Homelore workshops travel through embroidery — following the threads that pass between cultures, taught by the migrant artisans who carry them. For a private group, we shape the tradition, the story and the day around who is in the room.
A migrant artisan leads the making. As people stitch, the craft becomes a way into something a little deeper — a shared story, a place, a memory, a name — and everyone leaves with something made by their own hands. No experience is needed; everyone begins at the fundamentals, whatever their level.
A single three-hour session: the fundamentals of embroidery, then an introduction to the stitches of one tradition — Kantha, Sozni, Nakshi Kantha, Sindhi Tanka — and the story behind them.
Two or more sessions that build to something finished and usable — a cloth bag with Sozni florals, a stitched map of your own neighbourhood. The most rewarding path, and the best value: everyone takes their piece home.
Either can be built for your group. Tell us the occasion and we propose a tradition, a length and a shape, then adapt it with you. For several groups at once — children and adults, say — we build a mixed programme, each session its own workshop.
A slow, hands-on hour people actually talk through — an antidote to the usual offsite.
Live embroidery and participatory making for launches, showrooms and events.
Hen parties, birthdays and gatherings — a warm, creative afternoon together.
Sessions built with a group's own story, in their own language and space.
The figures above are our community-programming rate and where every quote starts. Private, brand and corporate sessions are shaped and quoted to the occasion; custom commissions and artist-led collaborations are priced on their own terms.
A few lines is plenty to start. We will read it and come back with a proposal and a quote — no obligation.
We will read your note and come back with a proposal, usually within a few days. If you left a WhatsApp number we may reach you there.
